***DISCLAIMER: Its a long read, so feel free to scroll down to the Final note for a more concise review.***Came in a little over an hour before closing time. It took us a few minutes to find something we wanted to order because the prices were so high for diner-class food and the menu wasnt arranged in way to make quick decisions easy. The service we had was impatient with us, at best. It was likely because it was getting close to closing time, but it was pretty annoying to have our waitress keep coming back to our table and looking at us so as to hurry us along in our decision-making process. My wife and I ordered a burger and a stack of pancakes with sausages. At the time we ordered, no other orders were going through (there were only 3 other booths still occupied). After waiting for a considerable amount of time, we finally asked another waitress about our food. She went in the kitchen and almost instantly came back to our table with our food in hand. Our food wasnt piping hot. It was just warm, like it had been sitting in the kitchen for at least a few minutes. The crown jewel of this whole experience was the burger we received. Granted, the normal stack of 3 pancakes and 2 sausages (charged separately) were delicious. The burger, on the other hand, was not even a joke. It was an insult. I feel bad for describing it so, but we were so disappointed to come from halfway across the world only to be served the saddest excuse for a burger that we have ever seen right here in what Asia considers the land of burgers. Not even in China did we see a burger sold as just meat and buns, much less charge $7 for that and only that. What you see on the red plate is what was brought out to us and vigorously described as a burger. It was only after voicing our utter shock and disbelief that our waitress came back out with some iceburg lettuce and 3 slices of tomato. We were then educated on the fact that lettuce and tomato are available on the $10 deluxe burger (thanks for not charging us for the lettuce and tomato, by the way). Sure enough, anyone bothering to closely read the menu would find that explanation included in the description. All that aside, its a disgrace to try and convince patrons that a burger consists of just a slab of meat sandwiched between two buns. Thats not a burger. Its not even a sandwich. Its just two buns with a piece of meat between them.To be fair, the pancakes and sausages were good, and the desserts in the case really did look awesome. After the burger experience, though, we didnt have any desire to try anything else. Also, the service we received wasnt all bad. However, the negative aspects reflect poorly on everyone involved.I generally shy away from giving reviews. This is my first one ever, in fact. I just felt a moral obligation to report on what we were served. Especially considering that the rave reviews were the primary reason we decided to try this place.Final note: This place may be good for coffee and dessert. The prices are high. Dont be surprised if you have to wait longer than expected for your order to come out. Normal burgers start at $10. If you have money to burn and want a couple of laughs, order the non-deluxe burger.
The food is reasonably priced and excellent quality. The specials menu includes soup or salad, an entree, coffee and a dessert. We had the salmon, the prime rib, the broiled seafood combo, the Greek chicken and another chicken dish. All were delicious and the waiter was excellent. This is the reason weve been coming to eat here for years.
Just had lunch at this diner and the food was decent. For diner food its not bad, it was ok. The place is pretty clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. The bathroom is where I had an issue and the reason for 3 stars. It smelled of urine in the mens room and its not the first time. Usually I would give them the benefit at first but this is the third time it has smelled this way. Hope they can get it right.
Terrible service. was ignored at my table, asked for coffee and water, then watched my waiter serve another customer and bring them coffee, they sat down after me. he then came back to me a few mins later, no drinks. i asked again about water and coffee and he said it was coming. that was it for me. ill spend my money elsewhere. fix your broken service. i might add the place was half full at best, yet my waiter tried to get me to sit at the counter instead of the booth that the host put me at.
11/21 ~ 7:10pm take out ~ AWESOME!! My food,👍🏻hot! HUGE plus, carton containers, no plastic! 😋💖✨💕one of THE BEST grill cheese w/tomato ~ EXCELLENT, gooey cheesy & juicy tomato 🍅 to perfection! French fried wedges 👍🏻& coleslaw ~ chicken soup 👍🏻💕✨🥰 Everything delicious hot!! Thank you. ✨
This Diner has the standard food you would expect from most of the similar Diners in the area and is overall Very Good. Reasonably priced food and large portional along with the quality make this a very good choice for a family dinner or meetup location for friends. They have something for absolutely anyone! The service was fairly quick and so was the serving of the order. Their hours (even with Covid-19 in mind...) make this Diner a very attractive destination also. The Menu is extensive so go ahead and give Yorktown Coach Diner a try and it is very unlikely you will be disappointed!
Had Gyro panini. Tasty. Couldve been toasted more. Was great leftover when I opened up & put in toaster oven on broil. Large portion. My companion had matzo ball soup & thought it was good not great. Her generous side portion of pasta with butter was al dente, delicious. Scoop of vanilla ice cream was rich & creamy, yummy. Waiter seemed preoccupied until we got our main course, then attentive & polite.UPDATE: Ribs & scrambled eggs delicious. Very nice waitress got everything right & checked with us twice to see if everything alright. Will definitely go back.
On Friday, January 1st, 2021, the first day of 2021, I began the new year by treating my wife and myself for breakfast at the Yorktown Coach Diner. It was our first time visiting the diner and the restaurant definitely made a first great impression. The Diner’s staff were very polite, warmly welcomed me and my wife, and made us feel relaxed and right at home. Our breakfast meals were very well prepared, had a great portion size, and tasted superbly delicious!!!Our waitress, Gretchen did a great job serving us and performed exemplary customer service. She made sure our meals were served in a timely manner and would routinely check in to see that our needs were met.The Yorktown Coach Diner also made sure to adhere and follow COVID-19 safety protocols, such as socially distancing guests and having its staff wear masks. All in all, my wife and I had a wonderful dining experience at Yorktown Coach Diner. They made sure that our New Year began on a high note!!!
Nice small town diner. Friendly staff. Plexiglass dividers around tables & booths for safe social distancing during the pandemic. Disappointed with the Sweet Potato Pancakes, use to be so good - changed recipes, doesnt even taste like sweet potato. Go back to old recipe.
Great food, service and staff. The only reason it didn’t get a 5 start review from me is because the plates were used and broken. One of the plates I got had been chipped on the side. The only suggestion I’m making is to buy better plates. Otherwise, great 6 feet spacing and staff wears masks.
Only do deliveries from here, so I cant rate the food yet. The business is ALWAYS steady.. even with Covid hours in effect... Place is clean and covid seating is active at this location. Outdoor seating available as long as the weather holds up. Wheelchair accessible and bathrooms on-site. Its a go if youre in the area.
Tender omelets. Superior sausage links. Salmon cooked perfectly (moist, flaky, well seasoned, cooked through). Quick and attentive service. Nice location in town. Modest prices. Senior specials and weekday hours. Typical breakfast offerings; large portions. Comfortable seating. Bilingual staff.Well worth a visit.
I had a great lunch here! The stuffed shells were cooked perfectly with plenty of sauce and cheese, i was very satisfied and it was not expensive at all. My cousin who i was with was not as thrilled she wanted buffalo chicken fingers but the waitress didnt know what they were so she just brought her a side of franks red hot, which was still considerate. Also they serve potato wedges and french fries even though i feel there is a distinct difference.
Order here all the time great diner! Nice staff - they got my order wrong today and I called (I hate having to complain but a few things were missing, was the first time it happened) and they replaced it right away and were very nice about it! Will come back, thank you to the floor manager for handling the mistake graciously (wasnt anybodies fault, was a busy day and I think I got someone elses order, easy mistake!)Thank you Yorktown Diner will order again!
My husband and I came here after going to see the battle of the pumpkins. It was pretty cost considering the time which was about 10pm. I had the baked chicken and coffee. The chicken was dry and tasteless and I could not eat it. I got this with Zucchini but I want aware it was in tomatoes sauce so I couldnt eat much of that either. My husband ordered baked chicken as well but the Greek version. He enjoyed his. He waited a long time to get a diet Coke as I who waited for coffee while all of the staff sat at various booths. The whole experience was meh. Not the worst but by far not the best.
A quaint diner with am old feel. I got the Grecian chicken sandwich and it was good. I made sure I got the deluxe combo so I could try the fries too. All and all happy I went , good food, good vibe. There were juke boxes in every booth however I dont think ours actually worked. Didnt try it because I didnt have any coin on me
This is probably some of the best diner food that Ive had, with every type of french frie available.. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, the chicken was so crunchy and delcious, the wrap wasnt soggy and falling apart. My friend had a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel and it looked sooo good! The server was nice and friendly, the place was clean. Im looking forward to going back.
As we still don’t have power I took my 23 month old and 4 year old to have breakfast. My 23 month old wanted a piece of bacon and I asked if I could buy just a piece as I’m sure they make there bacon in batches at that time. The waitress tells me she can only sell me a full plate, and directs me to the cashier if I have any questions. Speaking with that gentleman, I asked him what that big deal was if I was willing to pay a dollar a slice? He anchors to the fact they only sell bacon by the plate. Then I tell him the only reason I’m there is because I don’t have power and that all I’m asking for is a small portion for my 23 month old son. His response, “I don’t care if you don’t have power and it’s not my problem.” Disgusting! I am not sure if he was having a bad day, but that kind of attitude in the service industry is utterly horrible. Even beyond that, as people have we really come to the point where we stopped caring about even small children. I understand times are tough, but the lack of humanity is lost on me. I just can’t support any business that doesn’t support the community it serves. Please just be aware of the type of people you are supporting by dining there. There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to help those in need.
I will say the food here is amazing. But my recent visit here is leaving me giving this place a second thought. I have a bad allergies to dairy. I ordered a chicken wrap and told the waitress no dairy no cheese. She informed me that she wrote down no cheeses. Upon getting my meal I didnt seem to see anything I couldnt eat in it. It was not until I started to eat my wrap and it opens up that I found cheese stuck to the top of my wrap. I will say they didnt seem to understand how sever this was at all. When we told them they had no idea what to do or understood. When we got the bill we saw she only wrote down allergy. I am very upset on how little un informed they are about allergies like dairy. I have been sick all night long because of this and I will re think going here again
Waitress couldnt even get our order right, didnt get large orange juice but charged for it.service sucked plus items on the MENU rang up$1.00 more than what the MENU price is. I wouldnt recommend going here go to Olympic diner in Baldwin place or Mohegan diner you will not be disappointed at either of these two but Yorktown diner is not getting any more business from me.
Foods ok, better diners in the area. Its really just the convenience factor for me. Coffee has been burnt everytime for over 5 years now, I think its time they get a new machine. Even with all this, the wait staff themselves do a great job and FOH people are very welcoming. .
My family had a bad experience today, a cockroach found inside of the soup ordered for my daughter (after she ate most of it), only 25% discount offered for the account excluding one of the plate ordered because it was so expensive!!!. Our family go to this place every week, sometime more than one time per week. We will never como back again!!!.
Typical northern diner. Lots of options, with bfast, lunch, and dinner avail any time. My bfast meal at lunchtime was tasty but the hasbrowns were a TINY bit heavy with onion. Service was good northern arrive... Pleasant and polite and get out of the way. Everyone else at the table found their food to be delicious and satisfying.
Wow..Black gentleman visiting from Orlando, Florida...A foodie who has a great following of health care workers on 5Th floor of ORHS..Orlando regional Health Care...this is my second day of coming to eat at a very clean..super-friendly...very professional staff and super owner family. THE FOOD and service is to DIE FOR....IF IN THE AREA ANYBODY....YOU MUST COME..👍👍🙊🙉🙈😀😀😀
This one I will comment on I was served the wrong order they would not take it back they said it was my order when I went to pay the gentleman at the desk just wanted my money and ignored my complaint I Wil never return nor will I ever recommend it again been there countless times before but now never again

2022-02-15Waitress was excellent. We had fried ravioli as an appetizer. 8/10. My son had the meat lasagna, he rated it a 6/10 because there was 70% meat but the meat had no flavor. I had this stuffed shells, 8/10. Our meals came with a choice of salad or pasta and we chose salad which e both enjoyed. The salads are pretty large and portions. We also had garlic bread which was delicious.

2021-12-29I want to give this place higher marks, but it’s one-star food with five-star friendliness and three-star service. I had the super deluxe burger platter with five different sides, and none of them tasted good (the wings were cold and undercooked). The Oreo cheesecake was bland - a feat in its own right. Trying to get a glass of water refilled was another ordeal. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but they could have used some coaching on putting a good plate of food together when I went.

2022-04-25This is my favorite diner within an hour of me.Always great service. Great atmosphere. Great chicken soup & fries every time. Food in general is really good, and the wait staff were really nice to my dormer Marine cousin. As a healthy mature young man of 23 years, he was made to feel like the chosen child. He got a bendy straw and a cookie (Thank you to the waitress who played along with his shenanigans!) and he rubbed it in our faces for 3 days.

2022-06-12Sorry to say all around bad experience. Walked in starving. Ordered burger deluxe with cheese and bacon, bacon was uneditable crumbled to dust, took a few bites of the undersized burger and realized something was amiss, smell test left me nervous. I stoped and a Waitress saw I wasn’t eating and asked me is something was wrong I let her know she took the food away. My check arrived burger was still on the check. I let the manger know (younger guy with beard) when paying he became standoffish and said you complaining now “at the end” I told him he wouldn’t have ate it either and left. So sad…

2019-09-22I came here yesterday before going apple picking. This is a cute diner. It is very clean, my waitress was friendly and service was super fast. I ordered my food and I got it five minutes later. I ordered the turkey omelette and I was pleasantly surprised. The omelette had real turkey and not some cheap cold cut kind you would get at other places. Also, I am a stickler when it comes to home fries and theirs wasnt bad. It actually had a flavor. If I am ever in the area again I would definitely come back.

2022-01-17Great dinner in Yorktown Heights. Reasonable prices, great food and friendly service. My father and I went for breakfast and had a great meal together. I highly recommend you try this place. Oh, and there was ample parking outside the restaurant.
