I Purchased a bracelet for a Christmas present for my wife and I we went back to exchange it for a necklace. The Lady was nice and helpful. However during the exchange I was not sure if they actually gave me my new item. I walked out assuming my wife had the bag and my wife thought I had the bag, we realized when we got home.So, that’s not the reason for the one star. I went back after and asked them if i left the bag behind and i quickly got an answer of “No we never make mistakes we gave you the bag”. I was not accusing them just wanted to make sure they didn’t forget to give me the bag after the return was processed. I went straight home after that and found it strange that I misplaced it, i checked everywhere. I went in again and asked if they can just show me video to see that they did give me the bag. (Maybe i dropped it outside or something) They did not do it until I called back multiple times, it took about 10 days of calling and asking. Finally I called the following week and asked the manager again about checking the cameras, she then tells me they checked the cameras and she saw they gave me the bag during the exchange. I asked the manager to please just send me a snap shot of the screen using her phone or I could come in to just physically see it myself on the monitor. I just needed reassurance because I really believe I didn’t get the bag with my purchase. But I refrained from accusing them and just asked for proof. The manger continued and and said to me “they can’t do that”, that it’s not possible to take a photo of the screen showing me walking out with the bag using her phone and she would be able to show me in person. Here is the issue and I hope someone from corporate reads this. I walked out in a rush and even though it’s my fault, as a customer you should humor me. Show me proof, instead they dismissed me. Maybe they were worried I would be right, or maybe they thought I was lieing and trying to get a free necklace. But I wasn’t. I told them I just needed to see if I walked out of the store with my purchase. And they were not able to show me I know when I called in last and the manager told me she checked the cameras I could tell she was lieing. I asked her what time was it and she didn’t know. At least if she gave me the exact time I would be somewhat be convinced about this. I asked for other details as well, did I walk out with my wife? Or separate? I got the answer back “I’m not sure” Anyways their jewelry is fine, price was good, but some of the worst people to deal with. I’m in retail I would of done anything to prove to my customer they got the product. They showed such little care to do so. Didn’t feel like a franchise. It’s not like I asked them to check the safe or for me to look at the cameras. Just give me some reassurance and let me move on. I tried calling corporate but every time it’s over an hour wait. Maybe they did give me my purchase and I just dropped it. But the lack of effort on their part was a zero.
These people ruined my anniversary! I bought a ring and had it resized. With rush order in place this zales promised me the ring to be ready in a week. Guess what no ring and I have been getting false promises ever since. The sales reps here are all LIARS!!! go somewhere else these people are not honest they just want to make a sale!!
The sales associate RAHI in steinteinway store was incredibly helpful and friendly. She showed me some stunning rings and obviously, i ended up buying more than i had planned for. She is undoubtedly, an asset to the company. Because of her i would definitely go again. She gave an exceptional service..
I went into store today 06/26/17 to have my very particular girlfriends diamond mother of pearl solar Seiko watch repaired. Its been 2 years since I bought it for her but it never fit right. I was told by a woman employee that she could not take the 2 links off the watch because she couldnt see the pins. 😐 Really? Cmon. This was her just totally brushing me off. Even though I agreed to pay the ridiculous price $24.99 to do it. I explained that I had taken the watch to a private jewelry shop on Broadway and he did not remove the 2 links in a SYMMETRICAL way and I needed the clasp to be symmetric to the watch dial face on the opposite side. She didnt seem to care to understand me. She just kept asking me over and over how many links do I want off and that my girlfriend had to be there to size it, which is totally unnecessary. She was just utterly unwilling to help me at all. She suggested I go back to the same man who had previously did a bad job. I told her I refuse to do that and I came to this Zales because I thought they were professionals here and would really help me out somehow.... but silly me... I guess not. There were only 2 workers there. The dismissive woman I spoke to and a younger girl who seemed to be in training were the only ones there. This is not what I expected from Zales. Now I know. You wont see me there or anyone I know there anymore. Thanks for nothin! ✌
Few Days ago I had purchased a pair of diamond studs for my niece who just turned 1. The studs werent screw backs. I purchased a warranty so if my niece had issues with the back piece, I can go and get them fixed. This was the Nearest Zales near my office, I had gone there and the rep over there were extremely rude and told me I couldnt use the warranty to fix the back. (mind you ALL THE ZALES uses the same computer systems and they ALL have the same information). The sales rep. said to me, I would have to pay to get it fixed, so basically purchase a brand new one and my warranty was useless. I left the store and the next day I was out of state. I was passing through the mall, saw a zales and I asked, will the warranty cover the back piece.( I was in CT Mall) The young lady said of course, Thats the WHOLE Purpose of buying a warranty. So now, I am feeling like wow, those people from the queens location LIED and tried to squeeze money out of me. buying warranty is a safety reason so you dont have to pay out of your pocket unless youre responsible. SHAME ON YOU STIENWAY LOCATION ZALES. You should be reported to Consumer Affairs and BBB.
My fiancé bought my engagement ring from this Zales. We brought it back two weeks later to be sized and appraised. After 3 1/2 weeks, I finally got my ring back only to find my solitaire diamond was swapped! Please visit consumer affairs for my full review and many others. Stay away from Zales!
I went to pick up my jewelry @ 10:30am this morning it was snowing out and the Zales doors were locked. A saleswoman inside the store raised her fingers to us that the store opens @ 11am.Don’t advertise that you open @ 10am for business if you open @ 11am. Very disappointed☹️
The place apparently doesnt open at 10, in fact a gentlemen worded through the glass door, eleven which told me I must have read something wrong. When I double checked it sure was supposed to open at 10. Hmm, maybe someone was late. Anyways, I got my ring and Im happy now.
My fiancé got me a bow tie promise ring and put insurance on the ring at least that’s what I was told I want into zales today to get the ring fixed because yet again another diamond fell off I went to a different location of the one in Steinway and the lady told me that there was no insurance on that ring and that we would have to pay out-of-pocket to get it fixed and apparently that’s what we did last time as well I am so upset and disappointed with the Zales there’s supposed to be the diamond store how having the best of the best and yet they constantly Continue to disappoint me I am very angry and upset with the service I am being given by the store in Steinway they are on organized irresponsible and unethical the guy that I spoke to hung up on my face twice I’m strong need to be eating with us to get my rings d continue to disappoint me I am very angry and upset with the service I am being given by the store in Steinway they are on organized irresponsible and unethical the guy that I spoke to hung up on my face twice That is officially one of the worst employees I have ever dealt with and I used to work in retail 🤬🤬🤯🤯😡😡

2021-08-11We ordered a set of Stainless Steel Rings, on of which was so poorly mad it actually was crushed flat under the weight of a childs foot. Zales was unwilling to provide ANY COVID SAFE options, offered no online options. And said the only way to fix the issue was to go to the store, forcing me to expose myself to an unsafe environment

2019-02-03So my husband decided to surprise me for Christmas & upgraded my wedding rings...To my surprise the ring had a missing diamond. All jewelry is supposed to be checked and inspected before its sold to customers. These sales representatives did no such thing. Since the beginning this location has been a nightmare...The staff lacks in professionalism and customer service. We decided to damaged ring that was sold to us to the 5th ave location where theyre much more qualified for the job...If youre thinking of purchasing any piece of Jewelry at this location please reconsider. I hope they retrain their employees and actually give us paying customers the services they promise!

2020-10-01Honestly Google needs to add ZERO stars.9/17/2020 I Walked into this location to get a warranty replacement. After being informed that the necklace could not be repaired due to its construction, I was given the opportunity to do a one time replacement but the necklace had to be ordered from a different store and I would be informed whenever it arrived to proceed.Fast forward to 10/1/2020, or 14 days later. I call to receive a status , Ms. Attitude answers the phone and tells me my name is not in the system, there is no such item (yes, the one thats currently broken in my possession), the SKUs on the receipt on hand dont exist, and my warranty doesnt exist. Best of all Ms. Attitude proceeds to hang up as I was inquiring on what else to do to get this issued resolved. Goodbye Zales, never again. :)

2019-02-09Do not go to this store!!!! This is the 3rd time that I had to go in because they keep making mistakes. I went to get my wedding band resized and PAID EXTRA to get my ring back before Valentine’s Day. The two counter ladies were bickering the whole time, which was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. Fast forward a week. I had to wait 1 hour in the store to get help, only to find out that they resized my ring too small!!!! FINE. I asked the manager to give me the refund that I paid to get my ring expedited, which she agreed to since it was their mistake. Now I’m finding out that instead of giving me a refund, she charged me again! WHAT OF WASTE OF TIME! I should of just taking it to a private jewler who could of resized the ring in one day!!!

2021-03-02Do your research online first. I helped my son in law out with buying the engagement ring. The staff was helpful and you can get an interest free credit card to buy. Just make sure you pay it off in time or the interest will kill your marriage...lol

2015-01-09I was almost a victim of price bait and switch at this Zales location. One of the employee (a black guy) showed me a bracelet, necklace and earring combo and told me the price. He made me wait a good 15 minutes (which was very rude to do) to pay for the item. Once he rung up the price it wasnt what he told me and kept claiming that the price on the shelf is wrong (why would you put a different price with the item?). I decided to take my business to the jewelry store next door as I felt he was not the most sincere type of person and felt disrespected.

2019-01-10They have the worst customer service ever not only they try to force me to apply for the Zales credit card when I clearly told them I wasn’t interested and they just kept trying to get me to apply for the card smh. So there was this ring i purchase which is discontinued and this was the only location that had the ring I purchase the ring gave it to my wife on Christmas Day come to find out the ring had missing diamond. I recommend nobody to go to that Zales they are the worst I stick with my 5 avenue location.
