First of all, the food was *amazing*. We had appetizers, entrees, drinks, and desserts, and every bite or sip was absolutely delicious. The service was also very good and prompt and friendly.Next, and perhaps more importantly, the owner Sam is a kind and generous soul. Our family was looking for a safe place to gather after a funeral. In the time of covid, this was very difficult to do. Sam offered to open his dining room an hour early just for the family so we could eat together but still socially distance. With so many other grieving rituals taken from us in this time, having a meal together to share memories was a balm to us all. And Sam did not ask for anything in return. Even apart from the incredible food, Zobud Bistro will have our familys business and our gratitude for many years to come.If your goal is to have excellent food and support a local business with a sincere heart and kind soul, Zobud Bistro is an excellent choice.
My girlfriend and I decided to try Zobud Bistro after looking at several options. We were the first two patrons of the day and we were amazed at the decor and the layout. We started with the lobster bisque and it was the best weve ever had. After several minutes of deliberations we had decided. My girlfriend ordered the scallops over lobster ravioli and I decided on the calamari and the beet salad. The service was fantastic and helpful, the drinks were quite perfect and the food was so absolutely amazing that we couldnt stop talking about it. This will be a must stop for us the next time and every time after we travel this way. I would highly recommend that you definitely treat yourself to some excellent food and service in an amazing atmosphere ( BTW the music was outstanding)! Thank you Zobud Bistro.
Wow! Im not sure how long this place has been around without my even realizing it but Im glad I finally noticed it and decided to give it a try. This is a fine dining experience, and the prices reflect that. The dining room is small but quaint and well-appointed, the service is what you would expect to find in any upscale restaurant, and the food is first rate. There is a patio in the summer, which is nice, but if they tweaked it and refined to give it something like a Paris sidewalk cafe feel, they would enhance the experience. All in all, a very nice dining experience.
What a jewel on Grand island.! As soon as you walk it you will see how Clean Everything is. There are 9 tables that are fully decorated and paper napkins Will Not Be Present. A real nice looking bar with drinks that are 👌. Dean Martin and frank sinatra playing in the background.the staff was over the top friendly and efficient including the new hostes that had only been there 2 days. I ordered the beat salad and scrimp scampi. Highly recommend!!!...outstanding will definitely be going again
I have been meaning to write this since they opened! My husband and I have been alone and with friends and family. We always have great service and outstanding meals. Sam has done a great job with his restaurant and I urge non-islanders to check it out! Some of my favorite dishes are the Chicken Milanese and the Soft meatball over polenta. My husband and son rave about the Roasted Salmon!! Everything is high quality and delicious. My favorite dessert is the homemade chocolate budino!!👏🏻👏🏻Thank you Sam for bringing Zobud Bistro to Grand Island!
My husband and I visited for the first time last night and had an exceptional meal.I was puzzled when I read the review by Andrew Galarneau and the Slanoviches as we had many memorable meals back in Sams days at Biacs and the Brownstone.Last nights meal was proof positive that his culinary skills are still top notch! We were greeted warmly by the hostess as well as the bartender and our server Katie. We enjoyed the restaurant ambiance, small and intimate with nice touches including white linen tablecloths and candles.Vases of fresh flowers at both the front desk and another decorative table were another nice touch. We enjoyed two delicious cocktails at the bar before proceeding to our table for dinner.I sat on the comfy banquette while my husband was seated facing the outside of the restaurant.Service was excellent and our server was extremely knowledgeable in relation to both the menu and the wine list.We were excited to see a Grunerveltliner offered as this wine is not often seen on restaurants we frequent. It was crisp and refreshing. The rolls were tasty along with the herb seasoned whipped butter that accompanied them.We both chose the lobster bisque and were not disappointed. The bisque was rich and creamy, well flavored with generous amounts of lobster.Steve chose the crab cake which he found nice and crispy, well flavored and with a delicious mango salad to accompany it.I chose the caprese burrata and couldnt have been happier.Served with arugula the dish was both delicious and plentiful. Burrata cheese is my favorite so when I see it on a menu I usually order it.Considering its winter the tomatoes were surprisingly tasty. We both choose the roasted scallops as our entree and it was an excellent dish. The scallops were nicely browned and cooked perfectly. The risotto that accompanied it with the sundried tomatos and spinach on top couldnt have been a better addition to this delicious entree. The portions were generous so we have another chance to enjoy it again as we had leftovers. 😊Unfortunately we were totally satiated with no room for dessert of which several of my favorites were being served. Next time I will save room for either the creme Brulee or the tiramisu! Our dining experience was definitely a 10 out of 10 and we look forward to our next meal at Zobud.Welcome back Sam Reda! These two foodies are thrilled to have you back on the restaurant scene and we look forward to many more memorable meals at Zobud. For those who have not yet been here you must give it a try, you wont be disappointed.
Chef Sam Reda and the entire crew at Zobud are phenomenal. Their restaurant is one of my favorites - easily my Top 5 in ALL of Western New York. If you’re from Grand Island, this spot is a must in your restaurant rotation. If you live off of the island, it is certainly worth any drive!

2022-01-12Best hidden gem on the island. The always use fresh and best quality ingredients. The specials are very thoughtful with something for everyone. My favorites, a must try, in no particular orderare the seafood risotto, braised short ribs with root vegetables, Chilean sea bass, and last but certainly not least by any means is the bologna with orecchitte

2022-04-09I have eaten here several times, and the food has always been top quality and delicious from dinner (lobster ravioli with pan-seared scallops) to dessert (creme brulee or chocolate torte are both amazing). Best food on Grand Island, IMO. Highly recommended.

2022-05-05Cute little location, and friendly staff, that is where all the good stops. Supposed to be a Mediterranean Bistro, you have bread plates, but never served any bread and oil. Ordered French onion soup and lobster bisque. The French onion was overly sweet, like they used Vidalia onions instead of a yellow or red onion, and the the bisque was not creamy at all. For entre, we ordered the gnocchi and seared scallops and lobster ravioli. The gnocchi I think was the only thing hand made, and I wish it wasnt. They were extremely large and extremely doughy and dense, instead of light and delicate bites. The lobster ravioli looked and tasted exactly like the ones I buy from the super market. The scallops were so seared that the sear was like a hard cap on the scallop and was difficult to bite through. The lobster sauce on the dish was the lobster bisque soup. And again, no bread to even sop up any of the sauces that were on the plate.
