I love this Thai place!!! I’ve been aching for kee mao since the Thai place by my house closed and this restaurant came thru!!! It was so delicious! The servers were great! Very sweet and very attentive. They did a great job and took great care. I had a great experience and will definitely be back to see them. They do have seating outside and inside.
What a great discovery! I was on my way to In Common Café, a place I had researched as worthwhile (visiting midtown), but it turns out its closed on Saturdays which ended up being a twist of fortune with Zoob Zib around the corner...I had the Pad Kee Mao with tofu for lunch and it was scrumptious -- hit all the right spots. Just hot enough without going overboard, fresh ingredients and so tasty. Reasonably priced, nicely portioned and really friendly & welcoming service, I will be back the next time Im in town! Thank you for creating such a positive experience for your patrons.
Excellent Thai food. I worked up the block from here for a few years, so Ive eaten here multiple times. Never disappointed. The food has a lot of flavor, the prices are fair, and the service is good. I had pick up and dine in multiple times and never had any issues. And they have a decent selection of alcohol as well.
I come here often since it’s right across the street from work but just wanted to leave a review on how awesome these guys are. They have great lunch deals and it’s an amazing bang for your buck. Come by if you’re looking for something in the area because you definitely won’t be disappointed.
Went during lunch hour and the food was incredible! It was just as flavorful & authentic as the food you could find in Thailand when I used to live there. The lunch special is a great deal and you have lots of options. I got the garlic chicken noodle soup, and my boyfriend got the chicken pad thai. We also got Thai iced teas and the fried ice cream, and everything was delicious. The service was friendly but wait times were a little long because of the lunch rush. Definitely want to go back to try more from the menu!
Very decent Thai food in an area I dont know well. We stopped and tried it out and were pleasantly surprised. The service was good and we received our food quickly as well. Everything was good, an enjoyable meal. But nothing too memorable. We enjoyed everything we ordered, and if I was in the area, hungry, and walked by it, I would gladly go back. But I dont think it was good enough that I would go out of my way to return here.
I visited thailand last winter and i must say the food at this restaurant is extremely authentic. i ordered a tom yum soup (with shrimp) and a pad kee mao (drunken noodles). both dishes brought me back overseas—packed full with thai flavor. i would highly recommend checking this place out for good thai food.
Loved the food here. Terrific noodle options served in a safe way during the pandemic. Will be back for their lunch special which is a great deal. Their fried ice cream (see photo) was better than any of the pedestrian stuff you can get at many Thai spots (comes in a long-stemmed glass, with strawberry sauce and a much-lighter dough than usual).
Loved this place stayed at a near by hotel and was going to get sushi next door but this caught my eye our waiter Ace was great ! Food was excellent and the atmosphere was great good vibes in here would definitely come again I had the chicken with pad kee mao which was full of flavors and spices and there spring rolls are out of this would also the dressing they use for the salad was amazing !
I was recommended by my friends. However, I had a bad experience there. The drunken noodle was BURNED as you can see in the picture. And I got very BAD ATTITUDE from one of the staffs when I asked about why our dishes were not ready yet (I kept my soup and I did not know they will wait until they take away the soups, while he could have told me politely as I was the ‘first timer’. But he was very rude and gave me attitude, which ruined my experience.) When he serve the dishes later, he did not asked which one is whose, just put the dishes on the table, made noise, said nothing. The soup was good, the noodles are sweeter than the other Thai place, but not bad if the drunken noodle wasn’t burned, it tasted bitter.
Food was OK but service was annoying. After ordering and assortment of appetizers for 4 people they brought the main course to fast and load the small tables they sit you at causing the dining experience to feel rushed..Its not like the restaurant was full .Mai-Thai signature drink was way to sweet also won’t be returning.Read the owners response its all about them in this average noodle house. Oh and clean your windows they are filthy no wonder they dont post their health rating I can imagine what the kitchen looks like
NO RESPECT FOR THE CUSTOMER !!I booked a table for 2 on the phone for 8pm.When I arrived with my friend at the restaurant, a woman, probably the manager, barely looked at me and told me that I didnt make a reservation and that I have to wait.I reassure her that I have a reservation, I even show her my last calls as a proof, but I decide to wait anyway. No excuses.Later, a table becomes available and this waitress decides to place a family who had just arrived at this table.I came to see her and told her that this was not normal, that we had a reservation and that it was not fair at all.She looks at me without saying anything and leaves as I was still talking to her ! Her colleague too !A shame, NO respect for the customer !I follow her to continue my conversation by telling her that her behavior is a shame, and that she is extremely rude !She answers me with a snide look that the other family was there before, while I repeat to her that we had booked a table and moreover we were there before this family. She ruined my evening by her behavior and her lack of professionalism/empathy.I am not the first one to complain about the service in the comments and I understand why.I expect a sincere apology from you for this deplorable treatment. Dont treat people like that, especially when you are the one that made a mistake.UPDATEI just saw your response, you guys are complete liars. You never told me that I had to wait because a family was waiting. NEVER. You told me that you didnt have my reservation and that I had to wait without explanations and without apologizes. If you have cameras and the sound also, you can check that you never did. If you had apologized and given me the explanation, all this would not have happened . And of course your clients will be on your side as you dont tell people the truth et as they see someone being angry. I hope this restaurant will get some management lessons otherwise youll lose your clients and your reputation. And its already the case when I see other comments talking about you being disrespectful with them.
What not to like about this place?! Pork Panang Curry tasted like home with the right spiciness. Roasted duck on top of rice was simply delicious. All day Everyday Happy Hour is the best, and they dont make weak drinks. I never had margarita and sangria with Thai food back home before. The foods and drinks complimentary each other so well. The service was friendly and great. Id definitely return for some noodles.
I work close to this spot and I’m not a huge fan of the way most Thai restaurants make pad thai but this spot just makes it right. If you are looking for a casual spot for delicious thai food, this is a great authentic spot for it! I’m going to have to come back and try its other dishes soon!
Had a very pleasant experience here. Staff was friendly and food was incredible. Absolutely in love with their tom yum soup and mango sticky rice. My cousin had the chicken pad kee mao and she said it was flavorful but not salty like other places. Would definitely be back when I’m in NY again.Update: The food was so good we came again the next day. We got chicken pad thai, crab meat fried rice, mojito, and mango sticky rice this time and they were very delicious. The pad thai was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. I also like their mai-tai better than mojito, but that’s just my personal preference. Service was outstanding as the waiter would try their best to checkups on my table even when they got busy.
Went in during their lunch special and got the Duck Noodle Soup. It was fantastic. I rarely eat duck, but this seemed appealing when I saw the menu. I highly recommend the soup. It came with an mini appetizer as well (salad and an egg roll) The hostess were super nice too! It can be pack if you go during midday. Recommend!
I ran into this place while at a convention here in New York and it was a total win. The service was great, the place was small but cozy, and the food was delicious. We had the beef stew soup, drunken noodles and the papaya salad. All great options and I’d definitely come back when I am in the area.
Can’t go wrong here! Food was perfect. The place is clean. The servers were on point. I ordered Phanaeng Curry and spring rolls. The curry tasted amazing and the vegetables where crisp. I added pork and it was worth it! The rolls were beautiful and tasted as fresh as they looked.
Excellent food and service. We absolutely loved everything we ordered! The scallion pancakes we nothing we expected but would definitely order again... And again. We also had the cashew sauce rice and the drunken noodles and would highly recommend both. This was my first time trying Chang Beer and enjoyed that as well. All of the servers are helpful and friendly and quick to refill water. The food was fast and prices are reasonable, music was good and not too loud. Front window was open while we were there and made the whole place feel open and comfortable.
Great neighborhood Thai spot. Sick service and friendly staff, and delicious food. Ordered the pineapple duck curry, spicy Cantonese noodles with chicken, and Bangkok dumplings. All three were tasty, especially the duck curry - super sweet and spicy. Prices all fairly reasonable too, definitely my new go to Thai spot.
This is a good Thai cafe with good atmosphere. There is a very friendly and helpful staff. Service is fast and food remind original delicious from Thailand. I was going to airport and I had couple beer in my backpack. They allowed to use it. I had good time in that cafe and it located close to Pen station. This is a convenient location, if youre going to EWR, for example.
Zoob Zib! Wait, are you kidding me?Funny name, but I love their curry.Ive tried Thai food all over midtownAnd this ones my favorite, hands down. The papaya salad rocks, although once in a whileIts not spicy enough. Did I ask for Thai style?I always have to order pad see ewFor my daughter, who wont try anything new. They make a good version; comfort food of the Thai kind. But try some spicy stuff, please, and expand your mind! Its a cute little place, with a decent happy hourAnd a busy, scattered kind of happy energy. But during Covid, do they have the powerTo survive just on take out and delivery?Ill be glib: please support Zoob Zib.
One of two servers was very friendly! The other wasn’t not friendly - he just did his job :-). Food was great - would come back again. The tightness of the tables are a bit uncomfortable. I’m not the biggest person in the room and it was difficult to get between the chairs.Tom Yum was delicious and papaya salad was also good.
Really good mix of casual Thai and hang out joint. Had the penang curry and the regular was nice and spicy. And I really like spice. Veggie curry could have used some heartier veggies like broccoli. Maybe try the tofu instead next time. Also had the mojito. A little sweet but goes well with the spice. Service was excellent, even when crowded. Tight space so can get a little annoying shifting seats to let people thru but expected for NYC.
Went there twice during my holidays and it was amazing both times. Cute little spot in the city. They are very kind and fast. My dad ordered the same noodle dish both times since he loves it so much. The cocktails are pretty cheap there! Good music as well, will miss this place. (One missing star because my chicken was not as hot as I wish it would’ve been)
Incredibly quick service for pickup (7 dishes were ready in less than 20 minutes) without sacrificing the quality of the food! It was delicious and flavorful! Would only recommend skipping the summer rolls (we thought the flavor was bland and the rice paper was too thick). Will certainly order again
I went here based on other reviews. They do not have a current health rating and that made me super nervous. But so many ppl said it was good so I went. It’s a cozy little spot. I ordered a lychee Thai iced tea and it had so much sugar in it. Having this throughout Thailand it didn’t even taste authentic. It was just sugar and juice. Other than that when I go out I try to drink water more than any other drink, however, the water was BROWN. It wasn’t the reflection of the table because when I sat down it was bright out. The water was clearly brown. I just chalked it up to it being city water and didn’t touch it. I ordered shrimp pad Thai and at first my only complaint was that they put sugar in it. It tasted sweet but it wasn’t bad, it was okay. As I ate, there were some cold bean sprouts, a slice of radish and a slice of carrot on the side of the plate that I mixed in. When I moved the carrot there has a fine black hair at least 2.5-3 inches attached to the carrot. I was so disgusted but I already ate 80% of the plate. So I closed my plate and placed the hair in a napkin and placed it on top. When the waitress came for my plates I told her and she said “okay.” I wasn’t looking for a free meal because I ate it BUT an apology would have been the decent thing to do. I then waited about 7 minutes to get my check. I paid and left. The location is cute and cozy but don’t be surprised by extra sugar and hair in your food. 🤢Update: to correct the management teams rude response. My hair is not short. That was the woman next to me. Next time treat customers with respect and common decency and at least apologize for your wrong doings. As to my experience with Thai cuisine I do many service trips in Thailand furthermore there is a difference between a sweetened beverage and one the customer can taste the sweetener in segments of the drink showing it wasn’t fully stirred. It is appalling to see a management team mismanage their business. I do not care what you tell your employees to do. The fact is she did not say anything to me but ok. As a management team your response should be “we apologize.” Your math is also the farthest from the truth. If I consumed 99% would mean I did not leave anything but THE HUMAN HAIR YOUR STAFF PUT IN MY MEAL. When I did not eat anything once I found the hair. Maybe your cameras failed you yet again.Throughout your comments if the customer has not been pleased you attempt to berate them. I will not engage in such behavior especially when it is your business that FAILED. You are truly deplorable and your management skills are extremely flawed.
Patio was quite nice, felt separated from the traffic with tall plantsChicken larb was gorgeous.... fresh herbs and ingredients... ordered a side of sticky rice...Can be a tad spicy, but the staff went beyond helpful when he offered to remake the dish to a more mild standard... 💙
One way to know if a restaurant is good is if you wander in the middle of a weekday afternoon. This place surprised me by how perfectly prepared everything was. It’s hard getting good Thai food these days and this place is excellent, and it was a huge selection as well. The Thom Yum soup was some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Great papaya salad. Great tofu and cashews. Yum.
This place is small but the food is great. The front of the establishment can be opened to let the air and sunshine in during the summer months and its a nice place for dining alone or with a group of 3 or 4. The beer and wine list is decent and I loved what I ordered - BBQ Pork over rice with spicy peanut sauce (watch out if you have peanut allergies)!!
This area on NYC doesnt have as many options for food as other parts of the city. I wasnt expecting much but it was great. I had the seafood cashew, made spicy. Friend had duck. Both were great! Service was quick, efficient & friendly despite it being a busy Saturday evening.
Since they renovated this place has really chugged uphill. They have ac now, the space looks great and the people working there seem a lot less miserable than before.I got pickup via their website last time i went and it was super easy to get my food and when i got to the office i was pleasantly surprised by how good the lunch special duck was.The rice and accompanying steamed vegetables where an improvement from the competition.Definitely adding this Thai place to my rotation as i hope to sample most of the lunch menu.
Quiet, moderately small, but newer restaurant serving quality authentic Thai. One of our favorite stops so far as we were able to talk with our friends rather than scream over the musicWe had the bankok dumplings, scallion pancake, drunken noodles, and duck noodle soup (pictured) with a variety of Thai teas. One on the least expensive meals weve had this trip at just over $20 each.
Zoob Zib is my go-to spot in the neighborhood for Thai food and it has been since they open. Service is always friendly, food comes out fast. The food is consistently good -- this is a big deal considering Thai restaurants are a dime-a-dozen in the area. Pop in, get any noodle or curry dish. Youll be pumped you did!
I had the Green Thai Curry with Chicken which tasted delicious and big portion size. I also ordered Basil Thai fried rice with veggies for mom but she said it had a fishy taste, could be the sauce or oil they used so may not be good for vegans. Ill go there again for their curry.
Great little place that we found in NYC, passed it many times on my way back from work but never visited. The food was authentic and the beer cold. I highly recommend it for a quick lunch (or dinner). We had the Steak and Fried Rice, Fish Cakes and the Pork Satay...all the dishes were really good. The staff are very very attentive and extremely polite. I only wish the outdoor seating was open as it was a warm beautiful day.
One of the best Thai places you will find in NY. Unbeatable happy hour specials, amazing food, and good service. I got the Lychee martini and wound up getting 3 because they were so good. For food, I got the drunken noodles, as they were the most referred to menu item on previous reviews. They did not disappoint. If you like spicy, make sure to be specific about how spicy you want it. I did say a level below Thai spicy and it wasnt as spicy as I would have liked. But overall, it was fantastic. My partner got the peanut chicken and I would easily order that next time as well. Great lunch specials as well. Will definitely return.
Unfortunately my experience doesnt resonate with lot of the reviews here. I specifically asked the fried rice servings to be spicy but the spice level was milder than mild. I requested hot sauce on the side multiple times but the food was packed without it. The taste was decent but not enough for me to give it a second try. I wish they listen to accommodate customers request.
I had good experience in the past but this time it was bad. They seem to be understaffed. I ordered way before I showed up but still needed to wait for 10 min. The server didnt give any ETA and say anything comforting. The grilled steak was 120% burnt. I can do both medium and well done. But the steak here was so carbonized and bitter and dry and was bad for health.
Me and my wife took a mini vacation to NYC - Times Square and we were looking for a great spot to grab Thai food. We came here due to positive reviews on line... and we were not disappointed. I had the Pad Thai (Beef & Chicken)... and my wife had the Drunken Noodles (Chicken). The food was absolutely delicious. The wait staff was polite and attentive. Prices were reasonable as well.
Awesome Thai. Neat little restaurant with a great feel. We went on a Tuesday evening at 9 PM and got the only available table. Its small. The spicy is spicy. A little too spicy for me. If I do it again Ill ask then to go lighter. My kids asked for light spice and theirs was perfect. Awesome spring rolls. Everyone liked what they got.Would definitely recommend this place. And not too pricey.
The food was good, but they messed up my order- unfortunately I didn’t notice until I’d gotten home since tofu and chicken look similar. They also completely ignored my request for spice. And the chive pancakes were disgusting- they were doughy and very unappetizing- I just threw them out...
Wow, its not easy taking my mom out for lunch. My sibling and I went there with mom she and loved it. She even ordered dessert. Service was wonderful. When my phone was dying, I was able to have it charged. Safety precautions are in place. Go out, eat, live life, enjoy yourself!
Amazing place. Really has a diverse menu that reminds me of food from back home. My personal favorite is the duck noodle soup but other items on the menu are awesome as well. Has definitely been my go to dinner take out spot amidst the pandemic. Try them out and you wont regret
I had a late lunch break and ate here during a visit to the Barishnikov Arts Center. The location prompted this as a spontaneous choice for something different on a cool autumn day. The food was good and just the right thing to warm. Choices ranged from slightly spicy to hot. I, a mild spice eater at best, had the Chicken Noodle Soup combo with a salad and Green Tea. My companion had the Seafood Soup (spicy to me, but perfect for them) with a soda. There is a bar but we didnt partake. The food was good but I got the feeling that after our salad we was delivered, they forgot about us in favor of a larger group of 6. Its a small place where you can see the entire dining area especially after 1:30pm, there wasnt a crowd. So it took longer than expected for salad and noodles/soup, but was good. I might give them another try to see if service improves.
The mai-thai was absolutely delicious. It was a decent size and very sweet with just enough alcohol to make us happy. The mango juice had chunks of fresh ripe mangos in it but the portion was on the smaller side. The hot jasmine tea was not to par with other thai restaurants as it was not loose nor a pot at the table. The crispy garlic chicken and rice was a new dish for me. The chicken was cooked to perfect but I did wish for a bit more of it. The ginger rice had sliced of fresh ginger in it which was a lovely touch, the rice might have too much ginger in it for some but it was perfect for me. The atmosphere was peaceful and the staff was kind. The restaurant was clean and they are following covid regulations wonderfully. They also offer free wifi. I will definitely be returning and next time Ill buy two mango juices.
I love it here. Second time for us. Cosy little restaurant. Not fancy at all. Service is quick and efficient. Prices are excellent. But the food is delicious!! I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place. I had one of the noodle soups and it was packed with tastiness. Filling too. Hubby had a beef and rice dish and that looked great also. When back in New York I will return *****
OH MY DIVINEEEE GODDD! Why is this restaurant not having wait list for dine in? This is the best Thai restaurant everrrrr. You know why??? Well, you can find good exotic Thai restaurants around the city... but, you still be hungry and unsatisfied. Here you will find the best prices, the best food and the best staff. Trust me! You will never regret and you will leave smiling. :)
Awesome Thai spot. Got to try it once and patiently waiting for reopening of restaurants and to be back here for great ambiance+food.Service was quick, polite and without fuss. Food arrived hot and tasty. From what I recall there was no alcohol served, and no reservations needed.Perfect for lunch.
I got a red curry dish with seafood and my wife got a red curry dish with duck and they were both delicious. My only complaint would be I wish they served larger portions because the portions although they were not small were not large. We got there with not a lot of time because we were going to a show and they were able to get us the food and get us fed very quickly. I also had a Mai Tai and my wife had the sangria and might I was excellent. The sangria was a little acidic, probably because it was old. You could taste the rinds from the fruit
The place was packed, and very loud. During covid & for dinner time, I just expected better. I could hear everyone’s convo around me, couldn’t even talk to my date had to shout. The food was average, nothing special. I’ve actually had better. They forgot my drink that I ordered. The staff are attentive & nice, seems like a family restaurant. I think they should remove one of the larger tables due to covid just to make the place more socially distant acceptable
If you want great Thai food, this is the place! Our wait staff was very helpful. It IS a small, tight space so you have to be prepared to be in your neighbors laps and conversation, as well as they in yours. Just keep your bubble around you and youll do fine. I didnt take photos, sorry.
I was visiting NYC and this place was very close to the hotel, so i stopped by for dinner. It was so good that I went again the next day. Its tiny and small tables stand very close to each other, but service was quick, and food was very good. Looks like they have happy hour all the time. Margarita I got was pretty decent. Would highly recommend if you stay somewhere around Hudson Yards

2022-05-16They arent kidding when they have the word authentic in their restaurant name.Went here with my family consisting of 3 adults and 2 kids. We stopped by for an early dinner and luckily the restaurant could accommodate us without reservations as a long line up built up when we finished our food. The atmosphere is cozy and attractive. Now for the food. The drunken noodles are a star dish here with tons of flavour and aromatics going on. I ordered it with crispy duck which was a but dry for my liking but the texture of the noodles and the ingredients made up for it. Ill try it with chicken next time. The thai fried rice is perfect for kids with lots of veggies and a nice grilled flavour to it.The tom yum soup is also a stand out here, it has the signature tom yum flavour profile but they add a bit of sweetness to it to really take it up to the next level. We got some mango sticky rice to go for dessert. The rice and coconut cream is very tasty and texture is on point. The mango was a bit tart but that cant be controlled.Cant wait to come again.

2022-06-24This place was amazing.I definitely recommend a grilled lemon grass ginger chicken rice dish. It was absolutely fabulous. There are lychee martinis are to die for. I was not expecting authentic Thai food in New York City, however this place blew away that notion. I have been to Thailand 11 times, so take my word this place does it 100% amazing!

2022-06-24It’s a YES from me! Everything we tried was amazing. It’s a small, cozy restaurant, and they got us seated right away. I’d recommend getting a few entrees and splitting them family style with the table! The crispy pork belly was delicious. I don’t drink alcohol but I have to say all the cocktails looked amazing.

2022-06-25The crab rangoon was delicious, the spring rolls were pretty good (I didn’t particularly like how they cut them up into harder-to-manage chunks instead of just giving you the whole roll), and the green curry was too spicy for me (despite requesting mild spice on the order). The flavors were all there! Just a couple of small complaints.

2021-11-04Great restaurant with delicious Thai food and excellent service. Our waiter was very attentive and our food was great. The drinks are tasteful and strong, and portion sizes are generous. We especially liked sitting by the window, as the entire front opens and you can sit at the bar and watch the city bustle on in front of you. Such a peaceful atmosphere as well. I would definitely come back.

2022-02-24I felt like I was transported back to my first meal in Thailand where the flavors are bold, spicy, and delicious. I had shrimp papaya salad and a few appetizers. The rest of my party had really delicious food as well. My partner had mock duck drunken noodles and it was as equally delicious as the papaya salad.

2022-03-19Overall: good Thai food, friendly staff, and a vibrant restaurant ambiance.Food: portions are generous. I ordered 3 dishes for myself and it was a bit too much (1 would have been sufficient). The tom kah gai (lemongrass chicken soup) was the low light: flavor was weak and the dish itself lacked a kick (usually a tart flavor). The highlight was the crispy skin duck in a Thai chili sauce. The crispiness wasnt quite there, but the dish was fragrant and flavorful.Price wise: its fair for NYC. Ill go back to try other dishes.

2021-12-10Ordered the Chicken Pad Thai lunch special - came with a tiny salad. The Pad Thai was delicious (5 stars), although small portions. Also ordered summer rolls which were just OK (3 stars)..the mango inside rolls was that unripe white crunchy part you usually throw away (didnt even taste or smell like mango, more like a tasteless apple). But the basil and other veggies were tasty and fragrant.Overall the food is good (so I cant speak ill of this place), but I also wont be going back, and wont promote it either. When I picked up, I asked for an extra sauce w the spring rolls and the bartender refused. He said yeah we dont do that. I even offered to pay extra, and he said no. Well now they lost a customer who works down the street

2022-06-25I feel so lucky that we went into this restaurant...been going there three days in a row. Food and service are just excellent and prices normal. I am not surprised that it gets crowded at dinner time and its difficult to find a free table.Keep up the quality guys. Well done 👍

2021-11-27Even if youve had Thai food before, Zoob Zib will surprise you with their concoctions. Try the chive pancake appetizer, itll come as triangles that are so yum! The fish cakes are also delicious. We also had the yellow curry with tofu and seafood noodles, both were great. In classic New York style, the restaurant is a bit cramped quarters. The service is prompt and attentive.
